Shepherd Pie

1 Lb Ground meat
½ C Diced onion
1 Can tomato soup
1-2 Cans Green beans, drained- we prefer French style
1 Can of water
1 C Cheese- optional
2-3 C Mashed potatoes- leftover works perfectly and so does instant

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown meat and onion together. Drain fat.
2 different ways to assemble this recipe:
Place ground beef mixture and layer the green beans on top. Mix soup with water and pour over the green bean layer. Spread mashed potatoes on top and sprinkle with cheese.
Another way is to combine the meat, beans and soup and pour into the baking dish. Top with the mashed potatoes and sprinkle on the cheese. Bake for 30 minutes, or until center is heated through.
